Terms of use
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Cownetics (cownetics.ie). By creating an account, you agree to them.
1. What Cownetics is
Cownetics ranks your herd and suggests breeding plans from the ICBF reports you upload and the answers you give. It is a tool to help you decide, not a decision. You know your cows better than any file: check the ranking and the plan, and change them until they suit your farm. The final call on every mating is yours.
2. A free test version
During the pilot, Cownetics is free and still being improved. Screens, results and features may change, and the site may sometimes be unavailable. We'll tell you before any charge applies; you'll never be charged without agreeing first.
3. Your account
- One account per farmer. Keep your password to yourself.
- You need an invite code to sign up during the pilot.
- Only upload reports for herds you farm or are allowed to manage.
4. Your data
- Your herd data stays yours. We only use it as described in the privacy notice.
- You can download or delete your data at any time on the Account page.
5. Accuracy
Your plan is only as good as the figures in your ICBF reports and the bull figures available at the time. ICBF figures change at each evaluation. We work hard to get the calculations right, but we can't promise the ranking or plan is free of errors, and it isn't a replacement for your own judgement, your vet, your breeding adviser or ICBF's own tools.
6. Fair use
Don't try to break into the site or other farmers' accounts, overload it, or copy the bull list or the site's content to resell.
7. Liability
Cownetics is provided free during the pilot, as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from breeding decisions made using the site. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under Irish law, or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
8. Ending
You can close your account at any time (Account page → Delete all my data). We can close an account that breaks these terms, or end the pilot, with reasonable notice where we can.
9. Law
These terms are governed by Irish law, and the Irish courts deal with any dispute.
